90th Anniversary Year

1999 gave the Trust the opportunity to make orchestras, choirs, singers and instrumentalists aware of this notable year. Many of the composer's arrangements and compositions were performed, not only in the UK but through many parts of the world including USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The first complete performance of the composer's "Requiem" took place in Abergavenny, South Wales, UK in April 1999.

CD/Cassette Recordings

These are gradually increasing in number. SCD2208 is devoted entirely to the composer's enormous output of solo songs (Jeremy Huw Williams, baritone) and the others selected below include repertoire as follows:

Mixed Choir PRCD510 (Llandaff Cathedral Choir)
CSACD3056 ( " " " )
HAVPCD227 (National Youth Choir of Wales)
Male Choir SCD4068C (Pendyrus Choir)
CHAN 6540 (Tredegar Orpheus Choir)
Songs SCD9099 (Bryn Terfel)
Organ Pieces SCD2140 (Jane Watts)

Six Pieces for Gamba or Cello

The President of the Trust, Megan Thomas, and the Editor, Terence Gilmore-James, were delighted to receive the return of the copyright of "Six Pieces for Gamba/Cello and Piano" which was then published by the Trust in the summer of 2000. The final item ("Repose") was also published separately since this was felt to be an ideal programme 'filler' or 'encore'.

Arts Council of Wales Lottery Grant and Fundraising

In the autumn of 1999 the Trust was granted a generous award from the ACW Lottery Division, so that the final project of publications of the composer's music could be fulfilled. The necessary minimum 10% matchfunding has now been raised from donations and the Trustees hope to complete the last 7% (£3000) through appeals to various organizations and the general public. All contributions would be much appreciated.
