About the Mansel Thomas Trust

Registered Charity No 700480

MTT logoFollowing the death of Mansel Thomas in 1986, his wife, Megan, resolved to preserve his compositions for posterity through the creation of a Trust in his memory.  In this, she was supported by family and close music associates.  The Mansel Thomas Trust was established the following year and was granted charitable status in July 1988.

Its main objectives are the collecting and collating of all the composer’s known manuscripts. and the copying and publication of most of those which were unpublished.   Musicians everywhere are enabled to perform, hear, study and enjoy the immense and attractive output of this gifted and versatile composer.  As the works appeared in print, a series of eight catalogues, in booklet form free from the Trust, were created to list the entire range of his available published music.   These catalogues can now be viewed online in the “Publications” section of this website.

The composer’s original manuscripts have been deposited permanently in the National Library of Wales at Aberystwyth.
